What should I do if my device is missing or I want to give it away?

If your device is missing

1. When Find device is on:
   • Go to https://i.mi.com and turn on Lost mode for this device in "Find device". Other people won't be able to access your device once Lost mode is on. In case they flash the device, all data on it will be erased. You'll be able to reactivate the device when you find it.
2. When Find device is off:
   • Go to https://id.mi.com and change your password. You'll be signed out on all devices where the old password is still used.
   • If you can't sign in, reset your security info.

If you want to give your device away

1. First, back up all important data to Xiaomi Cloud or another device. Then, go to Settings > Xiaomi Account and sign out.You'll have to enter your password at this step if Find device is on.
2. After you sign out, some of your data will still be stored on the device. To avoid exposure, perform a factory reset.
