What is an IoT SIM?

IoT SIM cards are provided by mobile carriers and allow hardware (e.g. smart vending machines) to connect to the network and be managed remotely.

Even though IoT SIM cards are similar to regular SIM cards, carriers use dedicated phone number segments and equipment to provide basic communication services (short messages, mobile data, and voice calls) to IoT devices.
